Hailing from Michigan and Chicago, the alternative rock duo, Vandalay opened Friday night at Double Door in Wicker Park. Unfortunately, to my dismay it was an abbreviated set. Having seen these talented musicians before I was hoping for more. Trust me I am not complaining because what the crowd got were some tunes from latest album “Flicker” mixed in with some of the older greats. These guys rock hard and play hard with a captivating live show that could be seen by the sweat pouring after only a couple songs. To me its a mix of alternative and hard rock music. I am always impressed by the sound these guys produce with just two members. Most of all they have stage presence and talent which is not always the case with some bands. Just a couple of passionate musicians who love what they do. Go see this band if you get a chance. Why…because they jam.
Been gone for awhile frens and it is already a new year! Great things are going to happen this year for Frozen Image Productions! We have great creatitve content coming very soon! On Sunday, we shot at The Wire and met some of the nicest most talented people. We shot Wilde a female fronted rock band who had some great original work. Next we shot The Metro Project who brought duet and saxaphone to life on stage. Soon after we shot David Knackstedt who was an acoustic act with a amazing voice. Next, we had Lex Miller who did an amazing acoustic cover of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. Lastly, we had our artist Dina Marie hit the stage as the headliner of the event. The crowd was increible and we couldn't be anymore proud of the band themselves. It all came together as a whole! They premiered there first orginal and even got an encore. The Wire show will be a show to remember. Next we are on the way to shoot Vandalay at Double Door! Never stop creating and live for your art!
